Swedish Institute funds PROMISE training and exchange

Since November 2021, the Swedish Institute has been co-funding a PROMISE project which is delivering training and exchange to Armenia, Estonia, Georgia, and Moldova. Activities include a study visit Barnahus Estonia, training on internationally recognized standards for Barnahus, and forensic interview training combined with Avatar based practice using AvBit – a previous recipient of Swedish Institute seed funding.

The forensic interview training with avatar practice took place from January to May 2022. Participants reported significant increase in skills and confidence in conducting investigative interviews with child victims of violence as a result of this training.

The study visit and training in Estonia is slated for November 2022, which will feature a tour of the facilities in Tallinn, practical exchange amongst international colleagues, and training on multidisciplinary teamwork from PROMISE.
